Git on Windows

by Jason Moore — last modified Oct 26, 2010 06:40 PM

A wee bit about installing git on windows, just for a future reminder.

I just installed Git on my ASUS EEEPC running Windows XP. I went to the Git homepage and downloaded the full installer without hacking support. Then I installed the exe and ran Git through the Git Bash program. Things looked good at this point. Then I made a git repo on my computer and started a corresponding one on Github. Then set the config for the username and email for my git install and followed these instructions for setting up the ssh key pair. Then all worked. Quite simple.
